Jake Richter is a drummer, composer, and educator who splits his time between New York City and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He maintains an active performance schedule both as a bandleader and a sideman, and appears frequently at venues like The Jazz Gallery, Chris’ Jazz Cafe, Shapeshifter Lab, Barbés, Bar Bayeux, and The Sharp 9. His debut album, Listen to the Birds is out now on Endectomorph Records (Brooklyn). Richter began his PhD in Music Composition at Duke University in the Fall of 2025.
