Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Calder Allen is a fifth-generation Texan whose roots run deep in the state. His mother's family settled in Austin in the 1890s, while his father's side put down roots in the Texas Panhandle in the early 1900s. That grounding in Texas tradition was paired with an upbringing steeped in creativity. Calder was exposed to the world of music and art at an early age through his family. His grandparents, Terry and Jo Harvey Allen, are lifelong career artists who curated
