Here's an opportunity to learn about a part of our history you may not have known. Join the New Bern Historical on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2pm at Orringer Auditorium at Craven Community College when they will host Dr. Valerie Johnson as she presents "The Harlowe Patriots". It's a little known but important piece of American history: black soldiers fighting against the British in the Revolutionary War. It's estimated that 5,000 black soldiers served on the Patriot side during the Revolution, which la
