The art of weaving has existed for many thousands of years and is used for decorative and practical purposes. Weaving is not only an art but a survival skill! In this beginner class, students will learn foundational weaving skills and will create their own small woven wall hangings to take home. Students will create cardboard looms and learn techniques including warping the loom, tabby stitch, soumak, rya knots, and finishing methods. No weaving experience is necessary. Ages 13\+.
